Ginny Weasley tapped her foot impatiently on the cement sidewalk as she waited for her best friend, Hermione Granger, to show up. She glanced up, her big, brown eyes taking in all the sights of the Muggle world. Shops, restaurants, stands, parks, buildings, cars... It was a lot to take in. She glanced around the park that she was currently waiting for Hermione in, looking for the brown, bushy hair of her best friend.
Molly Weasley probably wouldn't have let Ginny go shopping with Hermione. That's why Ginny didn't bother to ask her. After all, it wasn't horribly difficult to floo to the Leaky Cauldron and walk to where she was meeting Hermione. Besides, Ginny really needed some girl time. It was exhausting being around all 6 of her brothers and Harry. She needed a break. Shopping would definitely help with that.

Hermione rushed around that afternoon, completely forgetting where she had to be, and when she remembered she made the mistake of reminding her mother. Of course, her mom not being a witch, would jump to the conclusion that they would be off gallivanting and causing havoc, but Hermione calmly told her that they had raised a well behaved, responsible daughter. Her mother gave her extra money, which she took with a sweet thank you, downed a glass of juice, and headed out, taking all of her energy to just find the lot in which Ginny told her to be in. She looked around, so many places... so much sidewalk!
She quickly window shopped, just in case Ginny had decided to go in some where, but she found no luck. That was when she saw a girl standing in the middle of a sidewalk. The girl had bright red hair, and Hermione knew who it was, immediately. She smiled, rushing to her with a deep, out of breath, sigh. "There you are," She said. "I'm so sorry! I got lost track of time, and then my mom went into her whole interrogation thing." She said, rolling her eyes. "Have you been waiting long?"

Ginny tapped her foot impatiently against the sidewalk as she waited for her friend. Wow, Hermione sure was late! Ginny wondered what was keeping her. Hermione was never late for anything...
Suddenly, her best friend Hermione appeared in a rush of not-so-bushy-anymore brown hair. Ginny squealed excitedly. "A witch is never late. Nor is she early. She arrives precisely when she needs to!" Ginny said seriously, but smiling slightly at the end. Arthur had made Ginny watch Lord of the Rings, his newest Muggle obsession, and Ginny had loved it. "Nah, haven't been waiting that long. Don't worry 'bout it!"
Ginny smiled, whistling happily and linking her arm with Hermione's. "So... where to?" she asked, looking at her best friend.

Hermione took deep breaths as she listened to her speak. She drew back her head into a nice, friendly laugh. "My parents make me watch those movies." She said suddenly. "They're quite... interesting." She said, laughing a bit. She looked at the street clock that appeared outside one of the shops she used to visit when she was a child. "Not that long?" She asked. "I'm an hour and fifteen minutes late." She said. "I'll make it up to you, though." She said, smiling. "I'll buy lunch." She said, laughing a bit.
She thought for a minute. "I don't know..." She said, shaking her head. "Any place that brother of yours can not send me five thousand notes to." She whispered. "I'm starting to get jealous of Harry's invisibility cloak." She laughed, peering down the streets and the street corners as Ginny linked arms with her. "I don't really need anything for school, so we could probably just stay in the Muggle area..." She said, trailing off.
She thought for a minute. "How about the Library?" She asked, expecting a blank look from Ginny. "Just kidding..." She said. She thought some more, she really had no clue. "I suppose I didn't eat much for lunch... are you hungry?" She asked.

Ginny giggled and glanced at the clock too. "Well, truth be told, I didn't even notice. My mind was a little bit... preoccupied by thoughts of a certain black-haired green-eyed boy that I just happen to be madly in love with," Ginny said, smiling and sighing in happiness. "Oh, did I tell you that me and Harry got back together?"
Ginny gasped as Hermione said that Ron was sending her notes. "Ron? So he finally got the nerve up, then?" she asked, grinning. "Has he admitted his deep, profound love for you yet or are we still waiting for that one? And why the bloody hell would you want to hide when you can go and snog him or shag him or something like you want to do?"
Ginny smiled as she linked arms with Hermione, and walked down the sidewalk. "The Muggle area sounds fantastic," she said, grinning. "I've never actually gotten to spend much time in this part of London, to tell you the truth."
Ginny's nose wrinkled as Hermione mentioned the library. She giggled when Hermione admitted her attempt at a joke. She had her own sense of humor about her, Ginny would give her that. But the funny things really came out when she was in a fight with Ron. "Famished," she said, looking around for a restaurant and spotting a pizza joint. "Pizza alright?"

Hermione listened to her speak and in an instant she found herself witha lighted face and a hop in her step. "You are?" She asked, completely estactic. "That's wonderful!" She exclaimed. "And about time too, I didn't know when you would ever be able to get through that!" She was glad that they finally sorted their differences because she was, quite frankly, annoyed with Ginny always talking of Harry and Harry always talking of Ginny. It made her happy, really, to know they were back together.
Hermione stopped dead in her tracks. She hadn't even realized what Ginny was saying in attempt to strike a nerve at her love life. No, the concept made her stop dead in her tracks. She looked at Ginny, a stare of unprofound confusion. "He didn't tell you?" She asked. She couldn't believe it, why would Ron hide it? Was he, truely, embarassed? "We've been together for weeks now." She said, still not understanding why he would do such a thing.
Hermione nodded. "Well, it's about time you did spend time here. I really don't like to go to places where people depend on their wands all the time." She said, smiling gently. "It's nice to see the way the other world lives for a change, even though I am practically living both worlds." She said, smiling. She looked at Ginny, "Pizza sounds fantastic." She said lightly, and even though she smiled, her mind was still set on Ron. It still didn't make sense.

Ginny giggled as Hermione squealed and her eyes lit up in excitement. "Yeah," she said, smiling and sighing softly. "It's just... I love him so much. I know that I want to marry him one day and have a billion little red-haired green-eyed and black-haired brown-eyed children running around and calling me Mum. I want to live in a comfy house that's decorated just the way we want it and have you and Ron over for tea every week. I just... I'm worried about Harry. I know he wants it too, but it's kind of necessary for him to be alive to reproduce. And I hope for the best in this war, but... I can't help but wonder. What if something happens?" Ginny felt some tears gather in her eyes, and wiped them away. Good thing she didn't wear mascara today.
Ginny's eyes then widened. "THE BLOODY PRAT!" she screeched, attracting fierce looks from mothers trying to cover their children's ears. "Why didn't he tell me? Tell me everything, Hermione. When? Where? How? Why?" Ginny suddenly launched herself on her best friend, pulling her into a hug. "I can be the maid of honor at your wedding, right? But no pink dresses. I look awful in pink." Ginny squeezed her friend, not even wondering if she might not get married to Ron. After all, they were meant for each other. They would get married. Eventually.
Ginny skipped to the pizza parlor with Hermione in tow, and found a booth. "Okay, now spill," she said. "I want the dirt on everything. The scoop, the dish. Give it to me." She looked intently into Hermione's eyes, smiling excitedly. Yes, this was wonderful!
((When did Hermione get together with Ron? Maybe we should stick with canon for now... I'm kind of confused. ))

Hermione's head spun as her crazy friend expressed and engolfed herself in words about the one teenager whom she had had a crush on for five years or so, now. Hermione felt happy for her, but at the same time she felt rather jealous, but she covered it well. She could not apply the words that Ginny spoke to anyone in her life but Ronald, and that seemed all too well pointless. She just smiled, but in her head she sighed. "You know that dream will come some day soon," she said, comforting her friend. "You just have to be strong. You have to believe that everything will be alright in the end. Harry is smart, we both know that, and he has a knack for finding ways on how to wiggle out of things. You just have to be patient." She said, softly. "I don't have to answer that question." She said sharply as Ginny asked what if something happened. "I am confident that nothing will and we will live as according to plan."
Hermione washed her serious face off with a large and heavy laugh. "Oh Ginny, I was kidding." She said, flatly. "Haha, he will never come over himself, and by the time he does he'll be telling everyone BUT me his love for me." She said, still laughing a little. She wiped the tears of laughter from her eyes as she stared at her friend. "There will be no wedding, or bridemaids, or dresses or any of that!" She said abruptly. "It is impossible." She said simply, drawing her hair out of her face by a thick, pitch black, elastic band. She shrugged a little bit, shaking her head. "It just isn't meant to be." She said simply. "It just isn't."
As Hermione sat within the booth with Ginny, her mind was reeling with things to say, but she did not want to protrude with the topic of Ron any longer. Truth was, she had given up, and waiting for him to come around seemed more foolish that dating him in the first place. She heaved a heavy sigh. "Gin, calm down." Hermione said with a small laugh. "There is nothing to spill to you, it's over." She said, nodding to herself.
((Well, I was going off what was happening before, but the Ron that I was posting with left, but when I was posting with him Ron and Hermione were together. So I figured I was supposed to keep going where we left off, but I started over. =P Sorry for the confusion!))

Ginny listened to Hermione as she comforted her, and she felt better immediately. "I know that you're right," she said, sighing. "I just worry about him. I can't live without him, Hermione." Ginny thought about what her life would be like without Harry in it, but couldn't even imagine it. Ginny simply just wouldn't be herself without Harry. She wouldn't live.
As Hermione said that she was kidding, Ginny gasped. "You evil little witch!" she gasped, smacking Hermione playfully on the arm. "I actually believed you for a second! I was about ready to hex my brother's bits off, even!"
Ginny glared at Hermione as she said that there would never be a her and Ron. No wedding, no relationship, nothing. But Ginny refused to believe that. "Are you kidding me?" she asked, astounded. "My brother is head-over-heels in love with you, Hermione! It is meant to be! It's like me and Harry, except you two have known each other longer. Don't give up, Hermione. There will still be a wedding someday. And I will be your maid of honor, in a dark blue dress." Ginny smiled, satisfied at having planned Hermione's entire life out for her. It was what was going to happen. She just knew it.
Ginny rolled her eyes, quickly ordering a large cheese pizza and then turning back to Hermione. "Is not," she muttered childishly with an impish grin.

She nodded, understanding Ginny completely. "Wow, I thought it was bad... but not that bad." She joked. "Don't fear the future, Gin, embrace the present." She said, smiling and trying to encourage her to stop putting her mind into the dark spaces. She smiled lightly. "Whenever life gets you down, imagine Harry in a tux and you walkign down the isle... it should work. It worked for me and Ro--- nevermind." She said quickly, walking on.
Hermione shook her head. Oh, how Ginny cheered her up. "I think you should do it anyway. And thanks for the compliment." She said, winking at Ginny calling her a witch.
"I don't know about that." Hermione said truthfully. and a little sad. "There's been some rumors going around about him being in love with someone else. Perhaps he loved me like that once before, but I think he's changed." She said, lowering her head. "I think I pushed him away so much that he just can't stand me anymore." She said. "Look at me, a mud--" She stopped. "-uggleborn." She covered up.
Hermione took a bite out of a slice of pizze. "ish too." She said through her stuffed cheeks. She laughed, throwing her straw wrapped at Gin.
