Seconds turned to minutes, minutes turned to hours, and hours seemed like days before she found herself walking out down the halls again. She had no intention of returning to the Commons, for she wanted to go someplace where she could think, dwell on the things that were said, and she had already been to the Library. It was hard to tell when Hermione wasn't feel like herself, but it was easy to tell when she refuses to go to the Library: her sanctuary. She found herself in the depth of a hallway in which she never really visited that much, but only for one class. She didn't really spend much time on the 6th and 7th floor, exceot for the commons, but here she stood, in a mess that was over, but it still bothered her.
She walked up the stair, spiraling to the top as she placed her hand upon a wooden door. She could feel the cold expanding off of it, telling her that it was the only thing hiding her from the outside world. She grasped the handle, the cold iron knob twisted to the right and she entered, stumbling out onto the balcony of the Astronomy Tower. She found her balance by holding onto the thick, plain, and straight cement gate that acted as a barrier so one would not fall off the side. She crossed her arms over the railing, placing her head in her arms and sighing. "What to do..." She said, sighing again. "What to do..."

Harry let a sigh as he tossed and turned restlessly in his four poster bed. He opened his eyes and his vision was blurry, he'd taken his glasses off hours ago. And yet he was still awake and very much awake. He sat up rubbing his eyes as he did. He reached for his glasses, pulling them onto his face. He looked around the dorm, the lights were out and the only reason he knew he wasn't alone was because of his room mates snores and grunts as they slept. He envied them, they could rest without another thought, he on the other hand could not sleep. So he stood from his bed and quickly dressed into jeans and a t-shirt. He grabbed his wand and without another glance, left the dorms and common room behind.
He walked a little blindly, his eyes not yet adjusted to the fire light of the halls. After a few moments his eyes did adjust and he was able to walk better. Harry found himself wishing desperatley for some company. But seeing as it was the middle of the night he decided to visit the astronomy tower. He walked up the spiraling staircase, it seemed endless and then he saw the door not to far ahead. Pushing it open his gaze fell upon one of his best friends a smile automatically crossed his features. "Hey Hermione." Harry said as he walked to the gate and leaned against it, looking at her.

Her head raised up, staring into the darkness around her as she reached out a hand, as if attempting to grasp something, but failing. There was nothing but air, and it stung her to breathe it in, but she managed to do so. She could no longer feel her hands, they were numb from the feeling of loss. Her heart dropped into her stomach, as if it were to burst at any moment and she would die of shock. Her hands lay on the cement, frozen, tired, and weak. She placed her forehead back upon her hands and buried her face within her arms. The wind picked up at that moment, tossing her into a fix of leaving or to go back and face him, and to face them all. She had to be strong, she would not cry.
She took a deep breath into the frozen cement that she leaned on, her hair falling to the sides and blowing in the wind. The blackness had practically devoured her, leaving her as a slice of meat that the darkness could feed upon. Her body shook not from the cold, but from the darkness. She went to say something else to herself, but in that second she heard the door creek behind her. She jumped a bit, turning around to see someone who was very dear to her. She took a deep sigh and gave him a strained smile. Her face was ghostly pale and she seemed to look like she had no life in her at all. "Hello, Harry." She said, turning back. "What are you doing up here?" She wondered, looking out over the darkness, her mind racing with things to say to him, but the words just wouldn't come out.

Russian girlsWhile this subject can be very touchy for most people, my opinion is that there has to be a middle or common ground that we all can find. I do appreciate that youve added relevant and intelligent commentary here though. Thank you! prequalification ads
