Myrtle shrieked and tears poured down her silver ghost face. She floated back and forth across the bathroom, moaning and crying.
"Why am I always alone? Even in life it was this way!" Myrtle shrieked to herself. She floated over to the sinks and turned them all on, and then she sat on top of one. She buried her face in her translucient hands. The bathroom began to flood, like Myrtle had planned.
After crying as much as she could for now, she wiped her nose on the back of her dead hand and looked around through her thick specitcles. No one had even come to comfort her. More tears leaked from her eyes.
"DOES NO ONE CARE?" She screamed, so basically the entire school could hear.

Harry walked along the hallways, agry with the fact that everyone seemed to be fighting with one another. Okay, not everyone, but Ron and Hermione were in the middle of their daily spats, and this time it was more foolish than ever before. He rolled his eyes again, just thinking about it, and wandered off with no intention of where to go.
He listened closely for a minute, hearing moans and a shrill sound of running water coming from the floor below him. He headed down, curious as he always was, and gandered down the hall. He huffed a bit. The moans and water sounds came from no one else but the infamous, and quite obnoxious, Myrtle. She was the girl who had died from staring into the face of a basalisk, and haunted the bathroom where she died ever since.
He headed down, water to his ankles, as he looked up to her. "Myrtle, er" he grumbled. "Something wrong?"

Myrtle gasped and turned to face Harry. "Oh, hello Harry." She said glumly, "It's nice to see that someone does actually care about the pathetic ghost doomed to haunt the girls bathroom for THE REST OF ETERNITY!"
She wailed and screamed. Finally once she was done with her fit she lowered herself down to Harry so she could look him in the eye. "How come you hardly visit me, though, Harry? It does get awfully lonely in here..." Moaning Myrtle said slowly, "Have I done something wrong?"

He smiled a fake sort of smile. "Hey... Myrtle." He said, gulping glumly after her sudden outburst. "Er- yah... I care..." He said, not sure what to say to her at all. "You should really stop flooding the halls..." He said, knowing it was true.
Harry watched her move, stumbling back a little, believeing that she would explode in her face the second time around. "I am... er- busy?" He said, still backing up. "There isn't really any time... and this is a girl's lavatory." He said.

"You should really stop flooding the halls..."
Myrtle looked down at the floors, covered in water. "Yes...I suppose your right...Filch will YELL AT ME!" She exclaimed dramatically. "I am... er- busy? There isn't really any time... and this is a girl's lavatory."
Myrtle let a tear slip down her face, "That did not stop you in your second year...what are you saying? Shall I move to the boy's lavatory and leave the place where I...died?" She began to whimper, "Or is it that you don't like me and you just never want to see me again?"

He nodded. "Yes, he will yell at you..." He said, as if repeating in an obnoxious way, but he really had nothing to say to her.
He sighed a bit. "I am aware, but then I had a reason to be in here. I solved that case, and now, well, I don't like to come in here because someone might be in here, and that would just be bloody well awkward." He sighed a bit. "No, don't leave... and I do like you... I am just busy..." He said.

"No, don't leave... and I do like you... I am just busy..."
"LIAR!" Moaning Myrtle shrieked, "Liar! You hate me! Just like everyone else in the school, they all hate miserable moping monaing myrtle! Not that I blame you...You just want to GO WITH THE CROWD!"
She backed up and glided away from Harry, screaming the entire time. She dived into a toilet and disappeared for a few seconds. Suddenly she burst out of another toilet, spray the water in it everywhere. She sobbed as she rose high in the air and she sat on a window high up from Harry. Myrtle brought her knees up to her chest and began to cry.

Ginny walked along the corridor of the second floor, stopping when she heard a loud shriek. Oh, great, it's Myrtle again, she thought when she saw the flooding of water in the hallway. Ginny stopped at the entrance to the bathroom, hesitating to go in. The experiences from her first year still haunted her to this day. But Ginny couldn't just leave Myrtle there sobbing... She sighed, pushing open the door.
What she saw made her stop in her tracks. "Harry?" she asked, smiling and walking over to take his hand in hers. "What are you doing here?" She glanced over at Myrtle, who was still weeping. "What's wrong with her this time?" she asked Harry in a whisper, jerking her head slightly in Myrtle's direction.

He shook his head. "No... I like you... if I didn't I would have just walked away as I heard you cry... right?" He breathed. "Er- I don't follow the crowd... if I did I wouldn't have accomplished as much... I do like you..." He really made a mess of things, and she was, frankly, too thick to understand. He sighed.
He turned to see his love rushing forward as she slid his hand in his, and he gripped it. He squeezed it a little before mumbling: "no one came to visit her." He worried then, what would Myrtle think of them being together? That he feared, because Myrtle always had a small thing for him.

Myrtle wailed, "nooooooo you don't! You-" But she was interrupted by a red headed girl who slipped her hand into Harry's. "What's wrong with her this time?" Ginny Weasley asked.
Myrtle stood up and she lost her bluish color...which was replaced by a red color. "Is this why you have been so busy, Harry? You've been dating Ginny WEASLEY!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Am I not good enough for you? Did that time in the prefect's bathroom mean NOTHING to you?"
She began to float towards the couple, a nasty glare on her face and she turned redder by the second, waiting for Harry's answer.

Ginny squeezed Harry's hand back, and kissed his cheek. "Hello love," she said to him, smiling at him lovingly.
No one came to visit her.
"Oh, I'm so sorry Myrtle," Ginny said, looking at the ghost with pity in her eyes. She truly felt sorry for the ghost-girl. Ginny couldn't help but wonder why Myrtle had chosen to stay at Hogwarts as a ghost rather than moving on though.
Ginny paled as Myrtle's sadness turned to anger. She couldn't contain a small smile though when Myrtle said something about her and Harry in the prefect's bathroom. She rose an eyebrow at Harry, questioning what happened there.
"Myrtle, please don't be upset. I'm sure that someone would be right for you. Maybe Nearly-Headless Nick," she suggested, smiling. "He's a very handsome ghost. And Harry can still visit you. I'll remind him to come. I can come too, unless you don't want me to." Ginny was pretty much positive that Myrtle didn't want her to, judging by the look on her face. But Ginny thought she'd try to be nice.

Myrtle narrowed her eyes when Ginny kissed Harry and she had finally reached a flaming red, competing with Ginny's hair color.
"Myrtle, please don't be upset. I'm sure that someone would be right for you. Maybe Nearly-Headless Nick, He's a very handsome ghost. And Harry can still visit you. I'll remind him to come. I can come too, unless you don't want me to."
"Nearly Headless Nick," Myrtle's hands curled up into fists and she spoke through gritted teeth, "Is too old! he was around when I first came to Hogwarts. I think I'll pass." Myrtle said coldly. She kept her gaze on Ginny.
"Harry doesn't need to come visit me, he'll be BUSY WITH YOU!" She shrieked. She meant to slap Ginny with the back of her hand, but being a ghost, her hand only passed through her face. Myrtle gave a groan of anger and her red color deepened...she was about to burst.
She let out a scream that would be more bone shilling than one thousand banshees. She flew over each toilet and each one automatically became clogged and began to overflow. Myrtle screamed again adn teh glass in the window cracked slightly. The water on the floor of the bathroom began to rise high and higher, and Myrtle became angrier and angrier.

Harry moved a hand over his eyes as she spoke of the incident in the prefect's bathroom. He blushed a deep crimson. "Uhh, no... I don't know what you're talking about..." He turned to Ginny. "Honestly... she's crazy... I have no idea... well, I do... but it wasn't my fault..." He growled a bit. "Bloody hell." He mummbled. "I'm sorry Myrtle, there's nothing wrong with you, but the fact that I am living complicates things." He said. Oh boy... he brought up the fact that he lived and she could no longer do it. "I mean..." He waited for the explosion.
He nodded. "Yeah, Nearly Hedless Nick is quite old, Gin." He smiled. "I can kill Malfoy for you?" He offered, a dumb toadlike smile placed on his lips as he laughed inside of his head. Oh, he couldn't deny that he wanted to do it.
Harry rolled his eyes. "We just got back together yesterday." He claimed. "She's not the reason I have been busy, so please stop." He pulled Ginny back a little, stepping in front of her, only to eye Myrtle with his own anger. "Do not treat her like that." He said instantly.
He watched the items in the room change to fit her anger and he let out an exasperated sigh. "This is why I don't come visit you!" He yelled over her wailing.

Myrtle froze, "Oh...I see how it is then! Just because I am dead, I have NO FEELINGS! YOU ARE JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE IN THE SCHOOL! "
"I can kill Malfoy for you?"
"No!" Myrtle snarled, "You leave poor Draco alone! At least he cares about how I feel...and at least he visits! She zoomed around the room, as if she was pacing. She wanted to kill something as she wailed... "She's not the reason I have been busy, so please stop."
"YES SHE IS!" Myrtle shrieked, not hearing Harry's other statement. She did hear this though, "This is why I don't come visit you!"
She glared at him coldly, "I knew it! You don't want to even visit! Well then, fine! if you do not want to linger here, I will not make you!" She flew past the door and it snapped open, letting the flow of water that was in the bathroom flood out into the hall. Filch's cat, Mrs. Norris, was outside the door and was swept away by the strong current. "Leave if you want to! Don't ever come back to my bathroom if that is your desire!" Myrtle sobbed, her red color slowly fading back to blue...

Ginny's eyebrow rose questioningly. "It's quite alright Harry, I mean nothing technically could have happened. She can't really touch you, so that's not a problem. I have to say that I'm a bit jealous though if she saw you completely starkers," Ginny smiled impishly at him.
Ginny winced as she saw this whole scene unfold right in front of her eyes. "Myrtle! Please stop! I'm sorry if your feelings are hurt. But what about Peeves? Peeves can keep you company. He's not that old," she said weakly.
As Ginny's school robes started to get soaked, she sighed unhappily. "Please Myrtle, I'm not trying to be a threat to you. I actually think you're very kind," she said, looking into her teary eyes. "We have a lot in common too. We both had our lives threatened by Tom Riddle. And I would have died too if it wasn't for Harry here." Ginny smiled adoringly up at Harry, wanting to give him a small kiss. But she restrained herself, afraid that Myrtle would have a bad reaction.
