The entire wizarding world is on its highest ledge—Voldemort is back, and even the Muggle world is twitching with nerves. Dumbledore recruits Harry to help him persuade an older teacher to resume his post at Hogwarts for the year, and after receiving their O.W.Ls, the Golden Trio are beginning their N.E.W.T classes, the Potions of which is being taught, surprisingly, by the previously mentioned older teacher, Professor Slughorn. And that leaves Snape, where? To the genuine shock of all, the Defense Against the Dark Arts post. Imagine with that, if you will, a certain rival student of a certain Chosen One sneaking around in places like Borgin and Burkes and managing to escape—according to the ever accurate Maurader’s Map—a heavily guarded Hogwarts, and you will be able to imagine the strain and tension our brave hero is beginning to feel.
But this is simply the beginning of all Harry’s troubles. When Dumbledore asks him to attend private lessons, Harry does not hesitate to seize the opportunity, but the lessons themselves are far from exhilarating. Learning about Voldemort is a good strategy, admittedly, but Harry knows Dumbledore was looking for something specific before Harry got involved in the investigation. But what could it be?
Drama in Hogwarts commences steadily with attempted murders all around, while meanwhile the world outside the castle falls apart, prey to Death Eater attacks, murders, and raids in every direction. Even with Voldemort’s deathly past and still foggy plans for the future to keep Harry occupied, he can't help but ponder certain questions. How in the world did Snape manage to snag the job he has ever envied? Why does Dumbledore seem to think someone like Slughorn could be useful to their cause? Who is this mysterious Half-Blood Prince who is rocketing Harry through Potions classes? What in Azkaban is Malfoy up to that includes him possibly sneaking out of the school? What is a Horcrux, and what does that mean for Voldemort, and most importantly Harry? When will Ron and Hermione finally hook up? And why, why, why can't Harry stop thinking about Ginny?
The second war has begun, so pick a side or get tossed aside. Look inside the lives of all your favorite characters, watch as they act on impulses and the occasional hormonal mood swing, and perhaps you'll give into temptation and intervene. Explore the never-ending secrets of the castle school where the last bit of collective sanity of students and teachers alike begins to unravel, and follow Harry as he begins what may very well be his last adventure on his quest to bring the permanent downfall of the Dark Lord.
Welcome to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
I solemnly swear that I am up to no good…
